iPolicy Networks Names Arun Chandra President and CEO

Veteran Hewlett-Packard Executive to Lead Innovative Security Firm

FREMONT, Calif. – January 10, 2005 – iPolicy Networks, inventor of the Intrusion Prevention Firewall for real-time network protection, today announced the appointment of Arun Chandra as president and chief executive officer. Chandra, a 20-year veteran of Silicon Valley and former vice president of worldwide marketing with Hewlett-Packard, will be responsible for setting the company’s direction, overseeing day-to-day operations and driving growth strategies for iPolicy Networks. Former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Prabhu Goel will continue as chairman of iPolicy Networks’ board of directors.

“Arun’s in-depth experience growing established business units and managing new start-ups within HP will help him guide iPolicy Networks to more effectively serve the managed service provider and enterprise markets,” said Goel. “His disciplined approach and extensive expertise in business management, marketing and sales will help our organization achieve its business objectives. iPolicy Networks is doing well and is ready to scale to the next level. In order to do that, we have added management strength by bringing in a new CEO and I will continue to be an active chairman of the board.”

Chandra’s appointment comes as iPolicy Networks is expanding its business to respond to the growing demand for more comprehensive perimeter and internal network security. The iPolicy Intrusion Prevention Firewall protects networks and information assets in real time, controls access and blocks worms, viruses, network-based attacks and undesirable content. It is also effective in mitigating Denial of Service (DoS/DDoS) attacks. Its single-pass architecture enables it to sustain superior performance with all security functions enabled and to provide integrated multi-level responses to blended threats.

Prior to joining iPolicy Networks, Chandra completed a distinguished career with Hewlett-Packard, during which he gained broad management experience serving in a variety of businesses, geographies and functions. After beginning his career as a software engineer in the United States, he honed his business skills in several overseas assignments. Chandra was one of the early members of the team establishing HP’s presence in India. He subsequently moved to Hong Kong as a key member of HP’s Asia-Pacific marketing team. Upon his return to the United States, he assumed product marketing and channel management responsibilities. Later, in general management roles for the printing and computing business groups, Chandra was successful in scaling profitable revenue for multi-million dollar business units. Most recently, he served as vice president of worldwide marketing, strategy and alliances for the Technology Solutions Group, a $30 billion portfolio for HP.

“As companies battle to keep up with new exploits and vulnerabilities, iPolicy Networks is ahead of the technology curve with its line-up of advanced intrusion prevention firewall appliances that can scale to meet the evolving security needs of service providers and enterprises,” said Chandra. “I look forward to building upon iPolicy Networks’ accomplishments to date and accelerating the momentum to build a first tier network security company.”
